Description: Rendering and 3-D work in Revit is cumbersome and slow. This many years out, taking advantage of the advances in CPU technology is imperitive.

Multi-core rendering has been in Revit for several versions -- since at least 2009. Task Manager > Performance clearly show all CPU's banging away when rendering.
I do not know about multi-core use in 3D, but with a good video card, Options > Graphics > Use Hardware Acceleration (Direct3D) speeds things up a lot.
