Default I wish that AutoCAD had the ability to take a PDF, and with user assistance, convert it to a DWG file.

    Summary: PDF to DWG Converter

Description: I wish that AutoCAD would create a way to open a PDF and convert it to a DWG fomat file. All the programs online that I am finding are usually turning the PDFs into what my 5 yr old draws. We need that thinks, and allows us some dictation on what is there. This primary applies to PDFs of scanned docs, but I have found that this also happens with PDFs that I have plotted from AutoCAD. Would be a great help in the ressurection of projects that the CAD files are not available for and/or pre-date CAD drafting work.

I'd prefer not, and I suspect our PDF-using clients would not like that either. While nothing is going to stop a determined person from re-creating a drawing, speed bumps like this are a good deterent to keep others from doing things they shouldn't.

Exclamation Re: I wish that AutoCAD had the ability to take a PDF, and with user assistance, convert it to a DWG file.

This wish has been reported as granted and already in the software.
