Default Dynamic Block - Strecth Array and Lookup Stormwater Pipe

    Hi All,
I am new to DB's and I am trying to get a stormwater pipe setup. I currently have a stretch and array chained, a lookup and an alignment. I have tried polar stretch with array too.
I need a gap near either end of the pipe and dashes arrayed along the length (currently just rectangles) and insert and end points at the centreline, with variable width. I would like to be able to modify the pipe easily if the spec changes.
Either way the block goes weird after a couple of changes. Also the lookup is inverted, ie a 375 pipe is narrow and 225 is wide. Any idea's what I have done wrong.
    Thanks in Advance
    Steve

I don't have access to Parametric Constraints so I can't help you there but I will offer two bits of advice:

    1. Erase it all and start over. Add an Action and Test. When this works as you want add another.
    2. Concerning your narrow/wide problem. Click on the Stretch Action. The pick box is surrounding the upper section of your entities and the selected entity is at the bottom and not in the Selection area.
(Hence the first bit of advice.Maybe that's all you need.)

    Hi clshade,
Thanks for picking up on the selected item being wrong... I tried remaking the DB and the lookup is right now but I still get the issue with rectangle not maintaining constraints and occassionaly the lines go out the opposite end as well. How can I constrain this properly??? Any ideas???
    Thanks in Advance

Is this the deficiency you are seeing?
If so it has to do with where you are placing the Parameter that is driving the Array.

Nothing like that happens when I manipulate your previous DynBlk. (Though I have only done so in the BE Test block window)
Post it up again for a look-see.

    Hi,
Here is current attempt... I have constrained it differently in a hope that it would help, apparently not... Although thanks to your advice the lookup now works!!!
The stretch sometimes works ok for a couple of moves then starts the weird behaviour as in pic below...
    Thanks in Advance

In order for the Arrayed entities to go along for the ride the Entity being Arrayed needs to be included in the Stretch Action.
And this looks like the Stretch for the Length has something else acting on it so that it is being multiplied.

Take a look at the attached. It is far simpler and may not do all you need but looks more like what I think you want to achieve.
