Variable Storage

Hello all,

A bit of a long shot but does anyone know if there is any hidden storage in .dwg, .iam or .ipt files?

The reason I am asking is there was the facility with SolidWorks files to use some third party storage for variables which was hidden from the users and only available programatically.

It would be useful to be able to store information in the Autocad and Inventor files without the user being able to change it either purposefully or by accident.

Does anyone know of such a facility?

You wouldn't happen to know whether you can use these on Inventor (.ipt, .iam) files would you? I cannot seem to find anything at the moment to suggest you can.....

Maybe there is an equivalent if not?

I am unfamiliar with Inventor... Perhaps someone who is adept will be able to assist you there.
