    Default Wires have gone... haywire!!

Has anyone had this happen...? You get an updated architectural model, reload it, and notice some (not all) of the wires go beserk. It seems to be rather random. Some are still connected to switches/light fixtures while others are out in the middle of nowhere.

Yep, happens all the time. Usually its because devices got thrown out into space for some reason. If you can find the device and move it back into place, the wires usually go back to normal.

Everything looks to be in the correct location though. One thing I've found out... when they updated the model they received that good old "device has lost association with wall" message. But like I said, nothing looked out of order except for the wiring.

yeah i get that a lot i dont understand why there is an error message even popping up if it doesnt appear to have changed anything. you know whats the point i mean i didnt even think walls were copied over from an architectual plan to begin with. I sure know that ceilings dont.

This happens from time to time. From what I can tell it happens when the architect deletes the wall your fixture is hosted to and redraws a new wall in the same place. Everything appears to be unchanged but the redrawn wall will have a new id and will not host the fixtures properly. I rember this happening in 11 a few times and not in 12 but all our revit projects in 12 have also been from more revit savy arch firms so I cant say if the problem has been fixed yet or not.
