Installation Errors

Hello Navis Ninjas

This past week, I have attempted to install both NW Freedom 2012 and the NW Exporters Pack on 3 separate machines. All 3 machines are running Windows 7x64 but are located in different offices. The installation goes to about 95% and then this error appears (See Screenshot Below).

This doesn't have anything to do with admin rights - I have them.

any ideas?

Think I ran into this problem with trying to install the program and exporters in one go. Have you tried putting a restart between the two installs?

I have - its the first thing I tried.

You might want to try doing a Clean Uninstall of everything NavisWorks.

Then try the installation again..

Then, before I installed the Exporters pack, I'd make sure it's for Freedom.. We don't use Freedom at all, Simulate and Manage only and I've never run into anything like this.. I've installed 2011 Simulate and/or Manage on hundreds of computers here..

None of these machines had Navisworks (any version) installed. I went ahead and filed a support ticket this morning with Autodesk.

But, you've tried to install and errors ensued. Do a clean uninstall before you try anything else.

Basically, the exe files that are available for download are highly susceptible to corruption. For the Freedom install, I re-downloaded it and installed it and it worked the first time. No such luck with the export utility.

Autodesk support recommended that I simply install both tools from the Manage installation. I had totally forgot you could do that and it worked as well.
