Default ESRI shape objects in attached dwg

    Hi,

I'm new to Civil3D, but I've managed to create a surface from a pointcloud and attach a dwg that contains an ESRI shape file (polylines of building footprints).

In order to give the polylines in the ESRI shape file elevation values I followed this:
    http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...linkID=9240697

Worked great. The building footprints now have a Z value.

The problem is that I get this warning every time the drawing autosaves-

"The association between the queried objects in the current and attached drawings will not be retained once the current drawing file is closed."

When I close the drawing will I lose the work I've done? ...or do I no longer need the associated attached file.

    Thanks.

    Jeremy

The file re-opened ok. Not sure what the warning was.

The first dwg is still attached to your project dwg. To get rid of it and that message use the command
    ADEDRAWINGS
select that first dwg and click deattach.

You need to define/modify the drawing set as JMurphy says, and DETACH all source files.
The message will go away during autosaves, and saves of the working map session.
