Default Defines Slope Properties of Floor Sketches

Does anyone know what the purpose of the level properties are when you select a sketch line and choose defines slope on a floor sketch?

It just seems to mess with people since the level properties of the actual floor are now irrelevant/ useless…

First Image: Section showing where the floor actually is.
Second Image: Properties of the floor. (These don’t do anything once "defines slope" is activated.)
Third Image: Properties of the sketch line that defines slope. (These override everything else.)
