Pop-up windows not displayed

Recently installed AM2012 and all the normal windows (ie open file, am layer manger, etc.) were working and operating fine. Now when I click to open a file or the layer manager it prompts me to enter the file name or a manager command.
I must have turned something on or off to make this happen but I have no idea what.

any help would be nice

Try setting FILEDIA to 1

FILEDIA, and CMDDIA got set to (0) somehow. had a windows 7 update last night, maybe that was the cause.

Heh, who knows what troubles windows update will cause.

Typically when I've had the disappearing dialog, it's been due to AutoCAD crashing, but, of course, it can also be due to some sloppily written automation that has had to turn off the dialog to perform a task, but, not programmed to turn it back on again.

Either way, glad you're back in business.
