Hi there,
I think I've found a bug in steel design of Robot 2012, to whom shall I submit my report describing the issue?

I've contacted the support desk and figured out that the issue wasn't a bug but a default design option for members. Be careful that unless you are designing a beam under pure bending you should always create a new member type that considers buckling of the element. Otherwise steel section design (LRFD in my case) do not consider buckling capacity of the beam thus leading to under-design.
Buckling check option is turned off for beam members by default. For truss members and beams under axial compression force, buckling check must be turned on by user.
