    Default two-sided faces

I don't recall seeing this until recently, but 3D faces are being drawn single-sided. The issue is that when I section a building you can't see things if you're behind them, and for things like ducts you only ever see two edges, not the whole duct.

I've looked in the options without success - do you know if it's possible to force faces to be drawn double-sided?

If it only happens when you are using the section tool, it almost sounds like it's a culling problem. Did you try going to Home Tab > Project > File Options > Culling > Backface, and setting that option to 'Off'? It's labeled counter-intuitively, as it actually stands for Backface Culling, so if you turn it 'Off' you are actually turning backfaces 'On'.

Thanks justins, that did the trick. As it happens it wasn't just in section views, e.g. if I went inside a duct in a non-sectioned view the whole duct would disappear, but with backface culling set to off I can see the duct walls from all angles.

NavisWorks Rule #27: When in doubt check the 'culling'..

Hmm.. That might not be a bad idea for a thread on here. Navisworks rules to live by..
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

The reason it hasn't happened is because of rule #1 and #2

    Don't talk about Navisworks
