Default All Files Left Opened After Sheet Set Manager Printing.

I am not sure if I should post this on the PRINTING or GENERAL AUTOCAD forum!

However, after printing a Sheet Set project, all the printed files are left opened in AutoCAD.
However, the issue of leaving printed files opened is aggravating since I need to open the
Sheet Set, batch print and done with the set.

Is there a variable to turn ON/OFF so after sending a bunch of files to the printer,
they will all close automatically for me. I believe should be a variable for this. I cannot find it on the CAD sites.

    Thanks.

Version of Acad? any verticals running? What are the exact steps you follow to print from a sheet set? I can say that it does not happen here, and AFAIK there are no variables that could control that behavior directly.

    It happens in AutoCAD 2011.

I don't have any issue with 2012 and 2013. You may ask why not stick with the newer version? I already have the 2011 set and running well with all my custom profiles.

When I reset 2011, the plotted files are closed, but with my profile, the files are left opened. I don't know how to pin-point what's causing the problem, since regardless of customization, I am just going to Sheet Set and using the Autodesk's PUBLISH-POBLISH TO PLOTTER function (not the ...OVERRIDE).

Well since you mentioned there's no system variable, I'll keep on trying to figure out what's causing it.

Well. here's the process that works for me in 2011 (Map 3d) -- Open theDST file, and open 1 file in it, typically the cover. Close all other dwg files. Then right-click on the top-level name in the SSM dialog (eg the name of the sheetset) and expand the "Publish" option in the right-click menu, and chose "Publish dialog Box..." unsure the page setups are what I want, no errors appear, and then go to town with the publish job.

YMMV, but this has never failed in the way you describe.

This is one situation I so despise. Before I read your reply, I had to print a project set (25 sheets) and they all closed after they each of the file printed. I feel kinda silly in situations like this!

Though I did what you asked and they all showed "No Errors" in the window. I will have to wait for my problem to arise again, then I will check the information you asked.

As soon as it happens again, I sure will send an update to this post.

I sure appreciate your time on this issue. Thanks.!

that 'no errors' message is not trustworthy -- even if the plot job fails the 'no errors' message may be displayed in the publish dialog-- just like the plot device may show up as 'varies' even when all sheets are using the same pagesetup and hardcopy device.
