    Question 2013: Associative Dimensions?

    Hi

    I hope someone can help

    I am using 13 LT,
dimensioning in paper space (which I hate),
all new dimensions are set to be associative,
    DIMASSOC is set to 2

I put all the dimensions on and they are fine, close the drawing down and when I re-open it they are all no longer associated, I have re-associated, saved and closed and when re-open the drg they are no longer associated

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me, as it is greatly annoying

    Thanks

    Check DIMASO. Is it "on"?

When you dimension, are you using OSNAPS and selecting the ENDPoints of whatever you are dimensioning?

    Hi All,

Did anyone ever solve this? I am having the same issue lately and it is becoming very infuriating.

    Running AutoCAD LT 2012.
    ONSNAPS are ON
    DIMASO is ON
    DIMASSOC value is 2

What makes it more frustrating is that it is only happening to aligned dimensions being snapped at centers.
I am snapping the center of one circle to the center of another circle. The number of dimension (chord dimensions) varies from project to project but can range anywhere from 30 to 400 depending on the number of cable rings I have lay out on a tank roof. So you can see how frustrating it would be to DIMREASSOCIATE a project with 400 dimensions only to close the drawing and open it a couple day later and see that the associativity has been lost.
To add to the madness, ALL rotated dimensions on the same paper space are unaffected and Aligned dimensions being snapped from midpoint to endpoint or end point to end point retain their associativity.

I have tried DIMREASSO..., saving the drawing, shutting down my station and reopening the drawing the same day and accociativity is retained.
But when I open the same drawing a few days later, the problem occurs. So what gives?

    Thanks in advance
