Default 1:50 PLANTROOMS FROM 1:100 FLOOR PLANS

Way back when in Awful CAD I would prepare a 1:50 of a plantroom on a separate sheet to the 1:100 floor plan. I would put a line through the plantroom (where of course the plant room was on the same floor) and say "Refer to drawing such and such for plantroom layout". We would put in a nice break line on the ductwork and all would be lovely.

Can anyone out there tell me how the hell I tackle this?? I can obviously hide information on my floor plan, use the split element maybe for ductwork, but would be interested to hear how others out there would approach this

    Cheers

you should create Dependant Views of your overall view. each dependant view can have its own crop region, i do this when i have matchlines on a building floorplan, sounds like you're doing the same thing. you can work in the overall plan or the dependant views. i can't explain it really well, do a search (maybe on the Arch forum) on how they work.
or if you're just trying to make a keyplan, just create a tiny scale roof plan set to coordination, that should hide all the interior work.

Use a Callout to create a reference to a larger scale plan. Dependant Views cannot have differing scales.

Use Masking Regions to block out the sections of the duct in that area. You can create a Detail Item that has a break line, masking region, and variable sizing. See attached as a crude example (Revit MEP 2012).
