Default Object / Viewport Scale field in a block?

I'd like to make our viewport label into a block that will be linked to a particular viewport so that the scale will be displayed automatically. Upon insertion, I'd also like to be prompted to select the viewport to establish said link.

Attached is a file with two label blocks. Label01 (on the left) is our existing label. We currently use it in a .DWT, and have pre-associated them with a few viewports (the attribute tags are filled in with a variety of fields including an object / viewport scale field). This works well up until you need to insert a new viewport, at which time we have to redo the object association.

Label05 is a modified version, with pre-set names, an imbedded sheet-set page number, and a space for the soon-to-be viewport scale tag.

    Thanks,
    Jay

PS #1: We're using 2012 & 2013. All of our work is in 3D, and all of the detailing takes place in paper space with multiple views (at different scales) on each sheet.
PS #2: I guess I'm not allowed to attach files yet...
PS #3: I'm not real sure why my name is archipro88. My name changes when I enter the forum section of AUGI. Is that normal? Fixed.

Unfortunately not without something like lisp. The workaround is to copy (instead of create a new VP) an existing VP+Tag in one go, then modify the VP to it's new position / size / view / scale. You can use Copy-n-Paste between Layouts and/or DWGs as well.

Well, that's not what I was hoping to hear

Our current method works pretty well, but it could be faster and les annoying. Too bad for us!

    Thanks,

You should be able to do this with a field if you are using sheet set manager. Simply set the block as the view label block for your views, and then put a field in the block that lists the viewport scale as a field. Here is an example.
