Default A little different Quick Properties problem..

Has anyone tried adding new quick properties, selecting a Category (that's actually in the drawings of your model), then when you go to select the property, the Category switches to something completely different??

Fix the Category, it switches again. Finally get it to stick, close quick properties, come back later, it's changed again. It's like it won't lock on the category (and sometimes the property) you're trying to save..

I've had this happen on numerous computers that I've worked on and now it's just getting old..

Using 2011 or 2012 NW Man, Sim...
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.

Using "Grid View" when setting Quick Properties will generally lock in desired settings.

Thanky kindly Joe.. Looks like that might just lock them down for me. Strange that one works and the other doesn't but, I'm all for finding a way that works and living with it in this program..

When Quick Properties work, they are very very good but when they are bad they are horrid. We usually export an XML file of quick property settings from the Options Editor for each project (and sometimes tasks within a project). Switching between projects or tasks is greatly simplified and there is a backup in case we have a bad computer day.

I do the same thing but, even when I exported them and brought them back in, they'd change.

I actually make a 'template' file I start all new projects with that include the Quick Properties, Selection Sets, and any Clash Batches I've created.

Throw a .dwg file with a nice 3D company graphic is it and save it as a .nwf file.

When you're ready to start a new project, open that first, append a few drawings, then delete the company.dwg file. (The 'template' can't have the goodies in it unless you have at least one drawing in it."

All your batches, selection sets, quick properties, etc. should be in the model then..
