Default Main Viewport, second smaller Viewport on top to hide contents of Main

Is it possible to create a main viewport with a second one on top, and hide part of the dwg from the first under the second viewport. If all that makes sense. Why I need to now is we use large scenery files with are DWG's, and instead for breaking it. I would like to know if could just hide it.

    Hi

Have you looked at using Polygonal Floating Viewports (refer to attached dwg file for an example).

    Have a good one, Mike

Thank you very much, but can this be applied to round or elliptical viewports.

    Hi

Without meaning to be rude or funny about it, just try it and see (experiment).

    Have a good one, Mike

In a word, yes. Plines are funny things, ain't they? Although to hide what is shown in the main vport, you might try a wipeout or a solid with color 255 between the main and smaller vport. By using plines as your vport borders, you can cut a notch from a corner of your main vport for the smaller one. Experiment and have fun.

Sure, just draw the ellipse or circle, then use the "Convert Object to Viewport" command on the Viewports toolbar.
    Good Luck!

Have you tried using regions to create your vports?
