I have a part that has multiple patterns of a feature (say holes). At the end, I have to verify the total no. (say total 25 holes). Can I do it without visually counting them one by one? Is there anything like a model query?

When you pattern the holes add a parameter to the QTY section (see Capture1 attached).
Mark the 2 parameters as Exported in the fx Parameters window (see Capture2). Then check in the part iProperties on the Custom tab for the 2 exported properties (see Capture3).
Then add these 2 iProperties to your IDW view label or a leader or whatever (see Capture4).
Brendan,
Thanks for your response.
1. It assumes that before creating patterns you know that you are going to count the holes. This may not the case most of the times.
2. All features to be counted may not be a result of a pattern. They may be isolated nultiple 'occurrences'.
3. The features may not necessarily be holes. They may be extrusion or chamfers for example.
Basically, I am looking for any in-built command. It seems its not there.
If the part is a sheet metal part I have a macro that counts the internal holes (pierces for plasma/laser) and adds 1 (for the external) and writes the total to a custom iProperty. Maybe this could work for you?
Thanks again Brendan, for your help.
But I am looking for a general solution and do not have any immediate specific requirement.
If a Manager / Checker wants to verify this, s/he is more likely to believe an in-built tool or command rather than a micro (no matter whatever its source).
