Summary: a tool to allow designers to "design" a floor finish such as a carpet or tile pattern that would be "interior designer friendly".

Description: We've recently discovered that a tile pattern can be created using a "curtain wall" by adding grid lines and replacing the panels with "tile" panels. Could this same concept be used for flooring? A horizontal flexible "grid" in which the "panels" could be different flooring colors, styles, or materials, and these materials could then be quantified for material take-offs and scheduled. Another feature so designs could be "sketched" in a "sketch-mode" and not just a grid of horizontal and vertical lines, for more intricate patterns that could also be scheduled/tagged for materials as you would a terrazzo design.
