    Default AutoCAD Version Checker

    Hi everyone,

I have used for years the dll called DWGicon.dll (release 1.6)

However, this works great on a 32bit but not on a 64bit station.
I wrote to the creator but he no longer uses AutoCAD and
the newer version he sent me does work on 32bit stations.

I found AVE (AutoCAD Version Viewer) but this works outside of explore and AutoCAD.

This there anyone know how to recreate the DWGicon.dll for 64bit...???

Thanks for stopping by and reading to post for help.

    -Jesse

Seems like a neat idea... Reminds me of what I get (on-screen) using iDwgTab (translated to English), just obviously not within any explorer dialog(s).

In any event, I downloaded DWGIcon (release 1.6) from the author's website here, and am unable to view the source-code. I've emailed myself the author's email address, etc. and will attempt to make contact, to perhaps 'request permission' (given that you state they no longer work with AutoCAD, etc.) in the next week or so... Don't hold your breath though (just in case, LoL).

Any luck? I'm turning blue here.

If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

... I'll set a reminder to see if I can't hunt down that email (that I sent to myself) during lunch today.

Something like this might help: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/...extension-in-C

You might want to look at the code for something similar: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/...extension-in-C

From those comments it seems it's "not a good idea to write such in DotNet". So I'm guessing you'll have to rather try C++.
