Default Data shortcuts and drawing pipes in profile view

I am presently trying to display my pipes in profile view but when I choose the pipes and structures I want to display, I right click but get no option to "display pipes in profile view". The profiles were created in one dwg and the pipes were created in plan view in another dwg. I am trying to use data shortcuts to do this, but I am having trouble. Is this possible, or do the pipes and profiles have to be in the same dwg? Thanks.

    Jon

Try selecting your Profile View first, then on the contextual tab, select the 'Draw Parts in Profile View' Ribbon Button (upper right), which will then invoke the AeccAddNetworkPartsToProf Command... Pay close attention to the prompts at the command line.

Jon, did you ever figure this out? I think I'm having the same problem, but RenderMan's response doesn't seem to help my situation. When I choose to "Draw parts in profile view", it won't let me do it because the profile view is in a different drawing that's xref'd in. It tells me "No profile views available." And it appears that data shortcutting a profile view is not possible. So to me it appears that yes, you have to draw your pipes in the same drawing where you created the profile views. If this is true, it's pretty lame. Land desktop handled this situation with ease.

... Or, you could simply data reference your pipe networks into the model that contains your Profile View(s).
