Does any1 now the correct way (or sequence) to import a 3d cad file so that it imports in the correct coordinates and level ?

I have some machinery that i need to import into my model so that i can see if it clashes with any thing but i dont know how to import it so that i comes i at the right place.

    Thanks for your time.

If this 3D cad file was created by another format that was not coordinated with your coordinates than no it won't come in correct. You will need to find that common point between the two projects and move the one to the correct location. Be mindful of the "Z" direction as well.

If this 3D cad plan will be updated throughout the project I would link it and not import it. That way once you have it placed and locked all you need to do is over write the original (as long as they don't make any crazy coordinate modifications)

Do a search in the Help/wiki on Shared Coordinates.
