Summary: Ability to open and upgrade any past project that was saved several versions previous to the current Revit version. Currently some projects you must upgrade sequentially every year and cannot upgrade (example) 2009 directly to 2013.

Description: Currently if you go to open a past project several years old there are instances where your file will not upgrade to the current version.

Companies typically upgrade family libraries and current projects every version. Unfortunately it is not profitably feasible to annually upgrade older archived projects every version due to the amount of hours required to fix errors and deleted elements when upgrading.

The only solution is to keep every version of Revit installed and to upgrade the file from one version to the next sequentially. Autodesk does not typically support past versions and therefore please make this viable in the current version or at a minimum provide an RVT standalone upgrade tool.
