Default Lofting problem in Inventor 2013

    Hello

I am trying to make a plastic cap but can't get the loft to give me what I want. I would attach the IPT file but it isn't an approved file type. That’s another question. How come I can't attach an inventor file type into an Inventor Forum?

So, I have a rectangulare shape at one end with two arcs. At the other end I have a copy of the first shape but with circles trimmed into the corners. When I loft them, using rails or not, the top twists and the corners don't line up properly. See the attached picture.

Any suggestions on why it doesn't work? What i can try? Or, how to attach the IPT file?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Jim

I got it but after two good hours of trying. And, as always, it ends up being something simple. The solution turns out to be the conversion of a courner into a round. I filleted the bottom sketch and now it works fine.

Thanks for the accolades but that solution only seemed to work for that piece. I had to revamp it and so I made a new one but ended up with the same problem and the same solution didn't work. Than I found another problem so I had to go even further back. I'll be back on the cap by tomorrow some time. If it does it again I'll post the files.

Any solution to sending the part files?

Try simplifying your sketch. Make the rounds a separate sketch and separate feature.

You might not be allowed to upload files until you've made a certain number of posts...

failing that - can you zip and upload files?

If you go to the third tab Transistions you can manually map the connection points for the Loft.
