Map Book Problems

- First problem with Creating a Map Book. I have created whatI believe to be a good layout template with a titleblock, viewport and adjacentsheet arrows. When creating the Map book I select the template file,select the titleblock that is an inserted block in the template layout, and selectthe adjacent arrow block. When I attempt to preview or generate a Map Book Iget the error message “Invalid Settings Found. Template layout does not havetitle block specified”.

- Next problem with the Map Book, after unselecting a titleblock inan attempt to proceed with the Map Book process, I select Custom for my gridtiling scheme, select the 322 polyline (rectangles) that I have in themodel, select the Sequential grid naming scheme starting with 1 and incrementby 1 from the lower right to the upper left starting with rows. Then whenattempting to preview or generate the Map Book I get the error message “ErrorCreating Map Book. Cannot use a Grid Naming Scheme for this TilingScheme”.

What version of Map3D? Can you post the dwg you are using for your layout/Tblock>

I am actually using Civil 3D 2012.

There is no placeholder for the titlebock in your dwt.

Thank you, I have now selected the titleblock placeholder. I will keep digging and trying to get the desired results!

Would there be any advantage if I used Map 3D rather than Civil 3D?
Any thoughts on the "next problem" with the Grid Naming scheme?

The only different in using Map3D over Civil3D would be Civil3D loads a few more lines of code at startup and unless your workstation is running out of memory there should be no differences.
I have no clue on the Grid error/issue with out seeing you dwg(s) and seeing how you are creating the grid/mapbook.

That is when you create the template for the mapbook. Seee this blog for more info, Alost at the end of the page gets into it.
