Default Does Revit have something like Autocad's Design Center?

I've started diving into creating Revit details for the first time and the process of loading and dropping in Detail Components seems pretty cumbersome. Is there some sort of component manager like Design Center or the Palettes in Autocad? Or is there some faster way of doing this that I'm missing?

    Thanks!

The way its done is to create a master detail file of all your details, then 'insert from file' from there.

Right. That's what I'm doing. I'm creating all my details for the first time. But bringing in Detail Components as I work on each detail is slow going.

Or am I misunderstanding your answer?

First, go to the 'R' dropdown - "options" and add your custom family folder under 'file locations', then move it to the top of the list. This will make it easier to insert custom families without having to navigate to your custom family folder, the folder will be on the left side when you 'insert from file'. For standard details, like an eave or footing detail with annotation, create it as a drafting view in a master .rvt file, then when you need an eave or footing detail in a project, you can 'insert from file' from that detail file.

You may want to consider using Windows Explorer, and drag and drop the detail components you need from Explorer into Revit to load them. You can do this for one detail component at a time, or select mulitple in Explorer to load more than one at a time.
