"Modify Properties" not working

This is not a new problem, it's been around for many months, probably since the last time I re-installed, but it's finally gottten to the point I need to stop trying to work around it.

Simply, I can open the Properties window, but I cannot select an object in order to see or modify its properties.

I have tried re-installing AutoCAD LT 2007 from CD, but it has not made any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is your PICKFIRST system variable set to?
