Default changing properties in blocks en masse

Often we get a drawing with many copies of many different blocks. I want to use the drawing as a background, usually with all the colors changed to a grey. I can easily change most entities, making their properties bylayer, and changing the layers color to some grey. Not so with blocks. Is there a way to change the properties in many different blocks en masse?

Perhaps thru Lisp automation but otherwise one by one thru the BE.
Or if there is a common entity to each and this is on Layer 0 you should be able to click the ones you want and change that thru the Properties window
QSELECT as well may be of assistance.

Does C3D have the SETBYLAYER command (introduced in vanilla in r2010, iirc)? If it doesn't, I think Owen Wengerd has a lisp routine with similar capabilities on his blog.

How about the SETBYLAYER command? [though it can have problems with 3d solids inside blocks].

    Actually, that was just me...

Seriously, glad it worked, thanks for posting back to confirm it.

Ah, I did look up and I was correct Owen's FIXBLOCK routine is what I used back in the day.
SHOOT! SETBYLAYER was introduced in r2008!?!!? That seems like it just happened yesterday. I am soooo old.
