Default GI23-1L: Raster Data Analysis for Mapping and GIS Professionals

Instructors: Gary Stephenson – Autodesk, Inc and Felicia Provencal and Brian Kling

Class Description: This class is an introduction to the new raster analysis tools in Autodesk® Raster Design 2005. You will learn how raster data can now be used more than just as a backdrop in mapping and GIS projects. Learn how to make better decisions by analyzing your raster data in creative ways while integrating it with existing vector project data. We will work with DEM files to analyze slope conditions for site suitability and with satellite data to help identify vegetation or soil types. You will also learn how to extract useful information from existing imagery to aid in planning, land use, environment studies, and hydrology. The course will appeal to professionals who want to extract the most useful information from raster and multispectral data (satellite imagery, DEM files) for analysis, better decision making, and presentation purposes.
