Default MA25-3: Functional Design in Autodesk Inventor

Instructors: Thom Tremblay - Autodesk, Inc.

Class Description: The concept of Functional Design is to create designs that will work while you are creating them. Traditionally 3D modelers have been used to create components and assemblies that can be tested through FEA or through physical tests on prototypes to verify that they work. By knowing that a component is going to function properly before it is added to or created in a 3D model it will be far less likely that a change will need to be made down stream when it will be far more expensive. Functional Design in Autodesk Inventor is centered on a group of tools called the Design Accelerator. The Design Accelerator can verify that a component that you’ve selected is up to the task or it can even help you select the component then create the geometry for you rather than the user having to spend hours creating complex geometry that may not work when the design is complete.
