    Default DV25-1: All Dressed Up!

    Instructor: Ted Boardman - tbdesign

Class Description: A perfect model in 3ds Max 8 or VIZ 2007 will appear boring and uninspired when rendered with poor materials and lighting. Good materials can make even a mediocre model into a stunning visual experience for your clients. In this session, you'll learn to take advantage of the built-in procedural map types to create efficient and flexible materials for your visualizations. Procedural mapping allows you to remain in 3ds Max 8 or VIZ 2007 and make significant changes to all aspects of materials: color, texture, opacity to name a few examples, without resorting to third-party software or bitmap images. You'll learn about the importance of specular highlights in creating convincing materials as well as masking techniques that allow rapid changes during the design process.
