Find and Replace not working in PS viewports?

This is an issue I've been having since AutoCAD 2009. For some reason Doing a find and replace on text in paper space will always ignore model space despite using the 'entire drawing' or 'selected object' options. Having a viewport locked or unlocked doesn't seem to make a difference and for a while now I've been forced to always go back to model space in order to find replace text.

Anyone have a clue what might be causing this? Am I the only one who's experienced this?

Resurrecting this thread as we are seeing this bug on one particular user's Civil 3D 2011. Anybody find a solution?
