Default ME114-2: Leveraging AutoCAD MEP for Calculation and Quantity Tank-offs

    Instructor: Dustin Tiemeyer

Class Description: Many engineers use Microsoft Excel to help them design. Pipe pressure-loss calculations, expansion tank sizing, and pump sizing all require the engineer to know the volume of the system. In this class, we'll learn how to use AutoCAD MEP to extract pipe length, fitting type and quantity, and other equipment on the system and export this information to Excel for your calculations -- removing the “Manual Takeoff” procedure from the process. We will also perform a takeoff to calculate sheet metal poundage.
