Default AB310-4: Leveraging Spaces and Zones in AutoCAD® Architecture and AutoCAD® MEP

    Instructor: David Butts

Class Description: AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP have powerful tools that help with space planning, estimating, energy analysis, and facilities management. These objects allow a user to centralize data about a building by creating a single source of information that greatly enhances the values of the DWG file itself. This information can be used in schedules, or to create legends and drive external databases. It can also be used to create additional revenue opportunities for the design firm, as well as provide a method for increasing return revenue from a client. This class will provide handouts that include best practices for creating and editing spaces and zones, as well as tips and tricks for incorporating data into these objects.

    Topics Include:
    • Creating Space and Zone styles
    • Using the Space
    • AutoGenerate tool
    • Adding and editing scheduling data to styles and objects
    • Generating Space Analysis schedules
    • Best practices for sharing and exporting data
