This software is all about objects and their styles, but the path to where you really specify what information is presented in which format is invariably buried three levels deep in the settings tree or styles dialog. Making matters worse, there are several places that look like they shod perform the exact operation desired, but nothing has changed when you get back to the drawing. Even if you do find the correct location the changes that were made will revert unnoticed unless a very specific chain of operation has been performed.
The process of just getting the points to not display in variable sizes ranging from microscopic to covering the entire screen while zooming has an otherwise very intelligent young engineer in our office ready to purge the program from his computer. Only the most persistent, stubborn or both of users seem to be willing to stay the course and even their patience is being tried.
I am sure as the process becomes more familiar the present system would serve well, but many potential users are being turned off in their first experience with the program. EDLIN also worked very well for DOS users who understood it.
