    Question Command lagging

    ACAD 2012, Windows 7

I am having a lag problem primarily with my dimension and line command. It's recent problem that when I am dragging my mouse to create the line or mark the second point of measurement the mouse jump around as if I was using grid snap. I have tried restarting my machine, no luck. I have also tried opening up a new document and trying with a blank slate, yet problem persists.

It seems to be only the commands that require a phantom line to be created between two points - The line that the pointer creates from the original starting command point. It would seem it is a graphics problem but I've been running the same machine for 2 years and this just started this week.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks guys

    Ed

It's worth toggling your hardware acceleration on or off depending on what it's set at now.

Type 3dCONFIG and click "manual tune".

We have 1 windows 7 machine that this issue popped up on recently, somehow it got changed, but switching it fixed it.

I was browsing some other posts and found this. Fixed the problem!

START - Computer - (right mouse button) - Properties - Advanced System Settings - Advanced - Settings - uncheck (disable) the box next to Enable Desktop Composition.

I had to go into control panel > system, but it was there and worked.

not sure what it does or how and why, but I'm back to where I was.
