groups in high rise

First, thanks for reading this! I am using group to create furniture layout for a highrise apartment building, but I am having no luck in placing the model group on different floors. When I go to place, there are virtually nothing in the model group which is comprised of families I created. (I actually get an error message that reads: "There are identical instances in the same place. This will result in double counting in schedules. You can tab-select one of the overlapping elements to exclude it from the group instance.") Most of the families are new generic models I created (not hosted). This is the same when I tried to insert in the 3D toilet from the default Revit library. ;/ I have been reading up on family creation and they all seem to point to creating non host families as the solution. Yet, I have tried this already, but it is not working for me. Does anyone have issues duplicating groups in highrise projects? Thanks!

Copy the group to the clipboard, and paste by levels.

It should. Perhaps you didn't understand. On the drop down menue for paste there is an option to paste by levels, and a dialog box provides options to paste to your selected levels. If this doesn't work, please provide a screen shot in 3d of the paste result. If it does work let us know.
