Default Paper space Tabs Not Showing Up in One Drawing

I have Autocad 2012 at home & i have this issue with the paperspace tabs not showing up in certain drawings. i can access them by the quick view feature down at the bottom right hand corner but on my work computer they show up at the bottom of my screeen all of the time. In options/display the box for this is check marked so i am not sure why they dont show up in this one particular drawing. I always thought that was a global setting. Why would they show up in every drawing but this one particular drawing?

AFAIK, this is a global on/off setting for the application.
    I've never seen this.
Any changes since you made this post?

If it's what I'm thinking it is, someone's probably right-clicked the layout tab & selected Hide Layout and Model tabs. To get it back you have to right click the layout icon in the quick view area and select Display Layout and model tabs.

But as we've discussed here, that is a global, application level setting. It wouldn't affect just a single drawing.

dumb question time -- is the drawing maximized in the Acad window? or is the drawing title bar showing, and the tabs hidden behind the command line?

    Good questions....

Here is a graphical example of how the tabs can be 'hidden', for the OP.

Another possibility is 2 sessions of Acad are open & 1 has layout/model tabs hidden & the other not.
