Why would the area command not pick points

The points are endpoints, lines, no 3D.
After picking three points the area command would not pick any other points.

If the problem only occurs in one dwg, post the dwg and we can test it. Check for overlapping viewports.

Just checked - model space was where it was happening.
Different drawings had it happen in it.
Not in those files anymore and things are working fine.
If it pops up again I will certainly let you know and I will post a file next time.
