    Default View Depth

Every plan show the walls, toilets sinks etc. from the level below. I have the bottom of my primary range set to (Associated Level) level 4 , which is the current level and my view depth Set to level 4 with the offset of 0,0 matching the Bottom of the primary range. I can even see the half walls on the level below which are more than 10' below my level 4 cut plane. I have tried changing everything in the view range and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

    Have you checked the underlay?

Sounds like your Views have an Underlay set. Check your Views' Properties for "Underlay" - it should be set to "None".

I have the same problem all the time. It looks like creating a plan view turns on the underlay automatically. Is there a way to turn this off?

I've neither found nor heard of a way to negate that. I always right-click and duplicate Views in lieu of using the "New View" function on the Ribbon (except for the first View of a Level, or course). That way, I also avoid that obnoxious "Do Not Duplicate Existing Views" checkbox.
