labeling sde data WITHIN a map query bdy

Hi all

Im using map 3d 2011 and have an SDE connection.

From this SDE im connecting to our Bus Route data, upon adding data to map 3d im able to use the "add to map with query" so im restricting the data to display only the bus routes that intersects my project area.
That works fine but still shows the bus routes the extend outside of the selected project area.
From that how do i either;

• trim the bus routes outside of my project area
• or just lable the routes that are within my project area

also

• lable the bus routes that are within my trimmed project area to be the same colour as the bus route line

My reason for asking is that my paperspace plot is not showing all the bus route labels, because the bus routes continue beyond my project bdy and some are labled outside of this project area.

To trim them you can use the feature split and select the point that crosses your project boundary. When you set the labels styles you can select the color you need.
