Default Pipe Network QUICK! Elevation/Invert editor

Summary: Have the ability to Quickly change the invert of a pipe!

Description: Much like the Quick Elevation Edit command for feature lines, we need a quick invert editor for pipes! Right now it takes about 5 clicks to edit one invert on a pipe!!!

Have the ability to move along a pipe and adjust the invert on either end and/or the slope!

You can edit the end elevations from the Properties Palette. You cannot change the slope in the same way, though.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

FWIW - This is because Slope is a derived, or calculated value, and not an actual Property of the Pipe Object itself.

But the same is true for a feature line. There needs to be consistent editing tools across objects. When I train my staff on Civil 3D, they get very frustrated when I tell them the way to edit certain objects is different. It seems almost every object has a different way to edit. I like the Grid editor, it can be applied to almost all objects (surfaces obviously not). The Quick Editor is even better. I wish the Quick Edit worked for profiles and pipe networks as well.

But you can calculate one of the elevations by (1) specifying and holding the other endpoint elevation and (2) specifying the slope

There is no technical reason that couldn't be in the Properties palette also.

I find using the Quick Properties feature is the easiest way to edit invert elevations and slopes. Just click on the pipe and the quick properties dialogue box appears.

You might need to customize it to include, Start Invert Elevation, End Invert Elevation and Slope.

Thumbs up Re: Pipe Network QUICK! Elevation/Invert editor

Actually I got my wish, from RedTransit via an app on the Autodesk Exchange website! You can now edit invert, centerline or crown elevations and slopes! you can even straight grade through a series of pipes! AND specify drops at manholes!!!!

I hope Autodesk acquires this and rolls it into Civil 3D!

    Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Memo to the C3D programmers........ This would make much more of a splash on new release day than the "Dark theme" and "Cursor badges"
