    Default Side Tap S.A. Grille

    Revit 2014
I am having a frustrating time adding side tapped grille to a mian trunk line.
This is how I finally accomplised it, but is there an easier way?!

    1. I drew a duct (16x6) 15" of the main line. That is long enough for a beveled tap to generate.
    2. I then place on vertical face the 16x6 side register to the end of the duct.
    3. I then delete the duct I originally drew (the bevel remains).
    4. I select the grille and click on the icon that allows me to draw duct from the register. I do so, and run it to the bevel.
    5. Since the new duct does not exactly line up with the bevel, I window the new duct and the grille and move it until it lines up with the bevel.
    6. At this point I add a balalncing damper in the middle of the short duct run.

PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS AN EASIER METHOD!

I see no value in you deleting the duct. The process works without deleting the duct in step 3. Are you wanting the tap off the main and the grille to be immediately attached? Or you still need a section of branch duct for damper mounting?

Yes, I need a section of branch duct to mount a damper.

As I mentioned in the other post you replied to, I did found the "Air Terminal on Duct" feature and was easily able to achieve what I described. Thanks!
