    Default Multiplier Roll Out Command

I'm attempting to do some lighting calculations in 3ds Max Design. I need to account for a light loss in my fixtures, and I believe that I should be able to do that with the multiplier command. The problem is, I can't find it. It shows that the Multiplier should be under the "Intensity/Color/Attenuation" roll out parameters for the light fixture, but it's not there. I noticed that the help menu is mostly from 2009, so it's possible that they have just moved the command, or that the same thing can be done another way, but I'm not sure. I do see a "Dimming" parameter, but I'm not certain that I would get the same result.

Can anyone help? I'll attach pictures of the help menu, vs what I see.

    Thanks!!

    ~Sunny

Yes and no. My guess is that you are using a photometric light as opposed to the standard lights. Little difference between the two, except that there might not be a "multiplier".

Try this, create a "standard" Omni light and see if there is a multiplier (I just did and there is) Now create a "photometric" target light, no multiplier. At best there might be a global multiplier under mental ray indirect illumination. (see lower right - image)
