create new view template

I'm working on a master Revit template. The view template form only allows duplicate/rename/delete. Seems like there should be a new option. I guess I will make a duplicate and clear it out and use it to make new templates, but Revit should offer the option.

Any thoughts?

How about 'Create Template from Current View'? Setup your view how you want it and then click on that option, name it the way you want per your company standards, and you're done.

View tab ==> View Templates ==> Create Template from Current View

Be careful with that "Duplicate", too.
That's how I created all of our VTs years ago.
Only to find out (fairly recently ) that the Type is based on the one you copied it from.
I was wondering why so many of my Elevation View Templates showed up underneath the View Type filter Floor Plans.
