Post It Note Rollover Tooltip?

Greetings,


I've been searching for a way to add a "Post It" type note to Acad Entities that is only visible when hovering the tooltip over the entity..... I don't want Hyperlinks, etc.... I've seen them in some Markup products, but not for regular Acad.

I'm using Acad 2014 and earlier.

AFAIK, nothing out of the box will help there. it's probably going to take some leet dotNet programming skillz to get there.

It can be done with hyperlinks and without actually linking to anything else.

edit: ah, sorry, you may need to "follow" the link even though it doesn't lead anywhere.

I was thinking of that too, but I think the OP wants to add and view his/her own data to entities.
Does Periscope support viewing user added data?

Seems like a mistake -or- maybe the original wish (made in 2006) was pertaining to Design Review, which can do this.

The thread refers to a thread that refers to (amongst other things) a piece of 3rd party software but the link to it is now "404".
I assume the product was similar to this.

I can't say for sure but I know Owen was working on getting Xdata and Map3D object data attached to entities years ago (Back when I was at AU 5-6 years ago) I think he was having trouble getting the correct files from Autodesk for it to work with map3d.

John, you don't have to follow the hyperlink. Do you have ROLLOVERTIPS set to 0?
