    Unhappy Base Coordinates keep changing

In Model Space the Base coordinates 0,0,0 will not stay set relative to my model content.
Even after I set the UCS to World in the Top view, if I switch to any side elevation view
such as Front, Right, Left, etc. the coordinates will be different. If I place a Sphere at 0,0,0
then switch the view, then I.D. the same sphere, the coordinates will have changed to
some crazy numbers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also check if Dynamic UCS (UCSDETECT) is on and turn it off.

I just did the following with the USCDETECT toggled to both OFF and ON and neither setting has any effect.
    1. In Top view, set UCS to World.
    2. Set Base at 0,0,0.
    3. Drew a Sphere at 0,0,0.
    4. Switched view to Front and used the ID command to list the XYZ coordinates of the Sphere.
    5. Sphere location is still listed at 0,0,0.
    6. Switched view to Left and used the ID command to list the XYZ coordinates of the Sphere.
    7. Sphere location now lists as being at X = 1540.97772320 Y = -252.46221430 Z = -233.19280050
    8. Switched view back to Top and used the ID command to list the XYZ coordinates of the Sphere.
    9. Sphere location now lists as being at X = 1540.97772320 Y = -252.46221430 Z = -233.19280050

If I want the Spere to shw as being at 0,0,0 again I need to go back and reset the UCS to World.

I just tested this switch and it does not improve the situation.

    How are you switching views?
Do you have named views already set up with the UCS saved in them?
Like on your step 6, are you going to a pre-set left view that is in template?

Do you have UCSICON "on" to see if you are truely in WCS while in a side view?

What happens in Step 7 if you set UCS = W and then list it again?

Switching views using the stock toolbar views; not ones I created.
    UCSICON is on now.
What happens is, set Top view to World, switch to a few other views then
when I come back to the Top view the UCSICON is in another place and the viewcube
    shows the UCS is "Unnamed"

FWIW, the top/first six toolbar buttons change the co-ordinate system to match the view. The other 4 buttons (oblique views) do not.

    Well that explains it.
Sounds like the OP starts in the normal WCS Plan view and views the model with those preset views, and when he goes to the "Top" view he's expecting to be back in WCS to get proper coordinates.

Mr. marstevons.. have you tried navigating around your model with the view cube? I "think" that doesnt change the UCS per view, at least it doesn't for me.
Or when you want accurate coordinates (no matter what view you're in) simply reset your UCS to WCS (command: UCS > W> [enter])
