Default Need To Change A Color In The Color Index.

    Just three questions.

First, I need to change a default AutoCAD's color (249) in the index to a basic color (say color 5 [blue]).
    How can I achieve this?

Second, if I were to change a color in the index, what would be the negative effect on sharing files?

Third, what happens when I create an eTransmit (if I have a different color index)?

    Thanks.

    1) can't be done

    2) if it were possible, would result in any recipient of your drawing having something different than you thought you sent.

    3) see 2.

Which begs the question -- Why would you do this? There's probably another way to get the same result without the negative consequences.

Not sure if it's what you're asking for, but you can set color 249 to plot as color 5 (blue) in a CTB file. To share the file you would need to share that custom CTB file. An eTransmit will allow you to include Plot Styles, fonts, and reference files.

You could always use blue instead of 249 instead.
