Cool Override a Dimension to show it as a blank value

Have you ever needed to show a dimension string without a value or text? To achieve this, select the dimension and then proceed to override it with text. In the text field; Hold down the "Alt" key and type 030, then select OK.

You now have a blank dimension.

Note: ALT030 will not show in the text field when you type it. The field will remain blank.

Sad to say I am replying to my own post - my natural curiosity led me to this blog, which shows a missing step to the one above.

Discovered another quirk of Revit - the first post will work if you input the numbers using the numeric keypad NOT the regular numbers on the standard keyboard.

This is not a Revit quirk, this is a Windows quirk. try using regular numbers from keyboard in note pad or other program and you will get the same result.
Always use numeric keypad for special characters. Do not know what laptop or Mac users do if they do not have numeric keypad on keyboard...?
