Default AutoCad2012. Assigning line weights to pen colors to plot.

    Hello everybody:

I work with a black background to rest my eyes, and have colored lines to represent line weights.
How can I assign line weights to pen colors to plot to my old B & W hp Designjet 430 plotter (last driver I have installed is for AutoCad 2006) in AutoCad 2012?

Could anybody help me with this subject?

    Thanks a million!
    TSV2012

    PS:
I seldom use AutoCad (I'm faster by hand) but with this client I have to do it.

That would call for using a CTB fiel as the plotting style.

I believe that you'll need to use a Windows printer driver - so the next questions is what operating system are you running? WinXP or Win7?

    Thanks cadtag!
I run Win 7, 32 bit. Where I am supposed to place the .CTB file for AutoCad to recognize it for all my DWGs?
I have to leave now but I'll come back in 2 hours.

At the AutoCAD command prompt, run the command stylesmanager.
This will open a Windows Explorer window to the location that contains your CTB/STB files.

Assuming you get the plotter to work, the setup is the same as in 2006 (and earlier). Start with "monochrome.ctb", modify and "Save As ...".

    Use the Basic Uploader option.
